Great Quality, Great Story
From Courtney Traviolia of Monmouth, Illinois on .
I first read this book when I was younger, but audiobooks fit my life more these days. This is an excellent rendition of the book - like all of BJ's recordings. Was great fun to re-experience the beginning of Tarzan!
Wonderful Story

Have not read/listened to Burroughs stories. Only watched the movies.
What a difference.
Wonderful story
Excellent story!
From Kelly Farrow of Monrovia, California on .
I listened to the 2nd Tarzan story through the Classic Tales podcast and liked it so much I got the first story with my subscriber coupon. Great glimpse into the kind of story that fascinated and intrigued so many for so long. I'm glad BJ has upgraded his recording equipment so much over the years as well.
You think you know Tarzan?
From David Jones of King George, Virginia on .
You don't know Tarzan. BJ brings him to life and I listened with rapt attention.
Into the jungle
From Susan of New York, New York on .
I was hooked on the podcast reading of Return of Tarzan, so I bought this. I was an English major and think I have excellent taste, but this was great! And of course BJ Harrison is a wonderful reader. Love the writer and the reader.
First Fun and Exciting
From Beryl Cook of Buffalo Grove, Illinois on .
I have greatly enjoyed Tarzan of the Apes, and can understand why it took off in popularity when it came out. The whole story is intriguing, and B.J. Harrison's reading is flawless and keeps my attention. I couldn't stop listening and am glad I also have the Return of Tarzan podcasts.
Can't get enough!!!!!!

A Blast from my Past
From Marc LeLark of Silver Spring, Maryland on .
I read Edgar Rice Burroughs when I was in 9th grade, and I remember telling my English teacher what a great writer he was. My English teacher, of course, told me I was mistaken, and although I totally understand what he means, I still greatly enjoy these stories. B.J. does an excellent reading of them, going very low for Tarzan's talking and adding recordings of animals at times.
Tarzan
From SUSAN STRAND of LA CENTER, Washington on .
The story is wonderful; the reading, delightful. Characters come to life and I am transported into the jungle among the animals and primitive folk. Thank you, B.J., for the thoughtful creativity you put into each story you share.
Tarzan of the Apes
From Sally K. of Ontario, California on .
I purchased this because I've been enjoying the current podcast of "The Return of Tarzan". I'm ashamed to say that my acquaintance with these stories has been limited to the Johnny Weissmuller movies. This story has been a revelation and of course, BJ tells it as only he can. I highly recommend this book!
Tarzan of the apes
From Anonymous of Manteno, Illinois on .
I thoroughly enjoyed BJ's rendering of this story. His interpretation of the iconic Tarzan victory cry is far more chilling than what you hear on TV and the movies (and from Carol Burnett). The story is full of action, adventure, and suspense. What more could you ask?
