Amazing
From Anonymous of Houston, Texas on .
Our family has listened to this several times. We have been amazed at the variation in voices for the characters. We hold this as one of our favorites!
Well read but story absurdly anti-semitic
From Anonymous of Silver Spring, Maryland on .
The story was extremely well read, so my deducting a star not due to any technical reasons but more for the content of the story. I found the level of Jew hatred too grating, and the avarice of Isaac of York too caricaturish, to fully enjoy the pageantry of the lists at Ashby and other medieval contests of skill. Is it historically accurate? I'm not saying either way, just that it was too much for me to enjoy the rest of the story.
Captivating!
From Elizabeth Romeril of New Orleans, Louisiana on .
I am a fan of classic literature, but had never read Ivanhoe. I was therefore extremely pleased and delighted to listen to the tale through B.J.'s incredible voice. I was thoroughly drawn into the world of medieval England, and found myself looking forward to the moments I had free to listen to more. I can't properly express with what fascination I followed the story of Brian du Bois Gilbert and his contradictory love for Rebecca of York, or with what sheer delight I experienced the hilarious meeting . . .
Another excellent production!

The usual great quality from B.J. Harrison.
Excellent Production!
From J.R. of York, United Kingdom on .
Indeed, a flawless production. And a a compelling, exciting story built upon a fascinating historical basis.
I could swear that, while listening to it, and as it echoed in my soul afterward, I was in medieval England. I saw the lists of the tournament and the Black Knight and the storming of the castle and the yeomen of the forests, and I was on the edge of my seat at the dénouement.
And you gotta love Wamba! What a wise and brave fool!!!
