Whoa.

I am so surprised I went 45 years without even knowing about this book. A truly stunning story. You can’t help but get involved and start coming up with ideas to explain what the heck is going on with Paul. I am autistic and a lot of his behavior is very plainly autistic. But that doesn’t mean he was, just that he had those behaviors. The lack of detail in the story overall, and about Paul specifically, makes him prime real estate for pasting on whatever our pet mental disorder might be, or for . . .
Engrossing

I chose this book at random to use as an experiment to create an easy way to download BJ's audiobooks to my iPod, and I succeeded! Then I started looking at Paul's Case, and I was engrossed. Written around 1910, this work is as poignant as ever. It should be required reading for those who aspire to the medical field. It gives a stunning insight into the life of a disturbed young man who slipped through the cracks.
FANTASTIC!
