In this story, follow the life of a person who repeatedly encounters a portal to a very special place and his reactions to the opportunity each time. A fantastic story that will keep you on edge to the end.

I have looked for this long-short story for 45 years. I read it then, at a time when I was particularly sensitive to its themes. Afterwards, I lost track of it, but I always remembered the title, but not the author, and of course I couldn't find it -much like the door in the wall . I have recently found your podcast and like it very much called the Classic Tales. I walk in the mornings 2-3 miles and listen to an audiobook while I walk. I was looking over your old list of audiofiles, and there it was! I downloaded it (don't ask) and there it was in all its glory. I am very thankful for its re-introduction to my life, and have parceled it out (in print, for now I know where to find it) to some of my friends. Thank you, BJ. It makes one wistful in its contemplation.
