Rip snortter
From Gregory Savage of Dongguan, Australia on .
I listened to this and it took me a bit to get into the story but once going, it flew by. A fantastic ending for a story of two brothers who take sibling rivalry just a tad too far.
Excellent narration. I knew who all the characters were by the sound of their voices. I had just listened to Treasure Island so I was up for another Stevenson. I thought that I knew his stories without actually ever reading any. The power of the movie has a lot to answer for. Don't let a good movie fool you into believing . . .

XLNT narration by BJ
From Anonymous of Grantsville, Utah on .
After listening to this, I am tempted to tourism Scotland. As usual, it is narrated excellently by BJ and the author is no slouch either.
A wonderful story of sibling rivalry
From Ammon of Columbus, Unknown on .
I got this as part of the 2010 Classic Novels Premium Podcast, and didn't listen to it for quite some time.
What a mistake! It is an incredible tale of nobles, piracy, treasure hunting, family disputes and politics. I highly recommend this book.
And B.J. ads such life to the characters. Very enjoyable reading!
The Master of Ballantrae
From Cheryl Stevenson of Ocean Shores, Washington on .
Again and again I am thrilled to "hear" classics I never found the time to read and this story is excellent - as always the narration is superb and the character voices so distinct I can imagine right along with the audio.
