A rollicking good time!
From Liz Shaw of Gilbert, Arizona on .
I am a big fan of the Arsene Lupin stories. This book is a collection of stories which introduce the intrepid burglar. There is a lot of exposition in these stories as the characters are being introduced. Some of this is handled well by the author, but some of it is awkward. The narrator does his best to ease you through the awkward moments. In fact, I believe this narrator elevates the story and improves it immensely from what you might perceive if you were reading a printed version. The pacing of the narration is excellent and each character speaks in a distinctive voice that brings them alive.
The first four stories could actually stand together as a novella, and they are worth the price of the entire book. We meet Lupin without knowing who he is, then he is arrested, imprisoned, and escapes. We meet his nemesis, Detective Ganimard, who will play a bigger role in future stories.
In the final story, Lupin meets Sherlock Holmes, setting up the conflict which will occur in the next book in the series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys classic detective stories in the vein of Sherlock Holmes.

An amazing inverted mystery!
From Ethen C of Cary, North Carolina on .
It's like Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot...but reverse...it's a mystery, an incredible and unsolvable crime, but from the perspective of the masterful perpetrator! I really want to read Arsene Lupin vs. Sherlock Holmes now. Thank you BJ for putting your excellent recording of this story in the Home from School Free section during the COVID-19 pandemic!
Truly Extraordinary Adventures
From Robert D. Bowker of Greene, New York on .
This was my first introduction to Arsene Lupin, and I was blown away. The narration is superb and the stories are mystifying, but the character of Lupin makes this a true classic.
Another classic I didn’t know I loved!

Once again, BJ introduced me to a classic tale that I never knew I would love - but I do! I’m a big fan of Sherlock Holmes and this one is similar, but even more surprising!!
Unique story, great performance
From Kelly Farrow of Monrovia, California on .
This story was very interesting as it wasn't a linear tale of a burglar outwitting his pursuers, as it might seem. Instead, it really forces you to pay attention as each vignette is from a different part of Lupin's life. The narration switches from person to person, though often it's Lupin in disguise! B.J. Harrison, as usual, performs very well in the reading! Good choice.
