Our family loved this and I wish I could give it 6 stars. The characters were wonderfully voiced. Listening to Harrison's reading brought visions of the Royal Shakespeare Company's stage production of this masterpiece. Thank you!
Nicholas Nickleby

I have been listening to BJ Harrison's Classic Tales podcasts for almost 10 years. It seemed like a brilliant idea to narrate stories in the public domain, and I am now happy to be a financial supporter so it can continue for a long time. I look at this way: I support PBS, but I don't watch it every day. But I listen to Classic Tales every single day... I confess that I listen at night and I can't go to sleep without it. ;-)
As part of my financial support, I used the coupon codes to purchase Nicholas Nickleby. But it was so good, I could no longer listen in bed - it kept me awake, because I didn't want to miss any of it. So I switched to listening during my commute.
First of all, I love the characters and use of language of Dickens. But this is, in my opinion, one of BJ's best narrative works. The wide range of vocal characterizations, even the regional accents, are astounding. I highly recommend it, and feel it was well worth the price of the book and the monthly contributions.
Fantastic!

This is the kind of audiobook that you wish would never end. Another great job by B.J.! The voices of Smike is and Mr. Mantalini are especially well done.

I found B.J. Harrison's rendition of this Dickens' classic throughly entertaining and capitvating. Harrison's narrative made me feel like I was right in scene with the characters. This is such a great way to immerse yourself in classic literature when life keeps you too busy to pick up the book. I am so thankful for Mr. Harrison's talents and for his efforts to make works like this available at affordable prices. I was unfamiliar with this piece until now, and I doubt I'd have stumbled across it on my own. After purchasing and listening to it, I feel enriched and you will too!

I gave it 5 stars in spite of my not a big fan of Dickens which is full of the way of life and abusive behavior common at that time. AND you have to have an attention span greater than a second as the sentences are long.
Nonetheless, BJ did a GREAT job voice acting this and its the main reason I gave it 5 stars. The voices invented for each character are absolutely remarkable!
Yes!!

I am thoroughly enjoying this book. Once again the voices are so well done that I forget that I'm not listening to several actors. Following Nicholas and his sister Kate as their lives are changed by the people they encounter.
